The Spartan Competitive Dance Team, also known as The Sirens of Sparta, is an official Club Sport and athletics affiliate at San Jose State University. The team is primarily jazz-based but has performed in a variety of commercial styles including hip hop, lyrical, and contemporary.

Members will create a positive representation of San Jose State University in the competitive dance world, gain choreographic and technical skills, understanding of what it means to be a positive and respectful team member, achieve networking opportunities, and a sense of community through the competitive dance world as well as within the organization itself.

The Team has performed at many events on campus such as all men’s and women’s home basketball games, Fire on the Fountain, Spartans Best Dance Crew - Delta Sigma Phi's philanthropy competition, Club Sports Awards, plus more.

The Spartan Competitive Dance Team will also be attending and competing at Collegiate Nationals in February. Be on the lookout for upcoming events and auditions on our official Instagram - @Sirensofsparta. Auditions will be held at the end of each spring semester.
